I learned a lot about business, network marketing, selling, myself, leadership, and communication. Although I am no longer affiliated with the company, I want to take some time today and share some of my best Amway success tips and marketing tips.

Quite perhaps my best Amway success tip is to acquire customers first, before you try to recruit people into the business opportunity. I think it is smart to find MINIMUM retail customers before you try and promote the business opportunity. Once you have a profitable business, you can teach others how to do the same thing. However, when you are making a few hundred dollars or more each month, you can share that story with others.

What if you found customers and then you sponsored people into the business and helped each of them find customers?

Here are ten ways to find more customers. Also known as a USP, this is what differentiates you from everyone else in the marketplace and tells people why they should do business with you, rather than someone else. If all Amway distributors are building their business the exact same way, this gives you a wonderful opportunity to stand out in the crowd if you can find a way to be different.

Figure out your own talents and abilities and ask yourself how you can leverage those talents and abilities to build your Amway business. For example, maybe you are good at public speaking.

If so, why not volunteer as a speaker at different events and gives classes on natural health products? If you did this, you could get the contact information of everyone at the event and call them about the products and business. Come up with a few ideas and pick the one you think offers the most potential, and then focus on that.

Learn how to use your own talents and abilities to build a business. Before you spend even one dollar on training, marketing, advertising, functions, or tools, you need to ask yourself if the money you spend will give you a positive return on your investment.

One of the complaints that people on the internet anyway have with Amway is the cost of the tools. Prepare a monthly profit and loss statement for your business. Rather than thinking of anyone and everyone as a prospect for the business or products , why not pick a specific demographic of people to focus on. This could be people from a certain town, age group, gender, race, income bracket or countless other things.

One group will be people for the business opportunity and the other group will be people for retail customers. I suggest you spend some time and write down the traits and qualities of your ideal prospect for each of those categories.

For example, if you decide your best prospect for the business is someone with sales or entrepreneurial experience, make sure you spend most of your time prospecting people with that type of experience. What I am telling you to do is to be smart with your prospecting and focus on the best quality prospects that you can. Learn more about your target market. I wish I knew about this lesson while I was in Amway. However, when it comes to network marketing, there is a big difference between being busy and being productiv e.

In Amway, or any other network marketing business, there are only five activities that I know of that actually help you make money. Those activities are prospecting, showing the plan, following up, training your team and getting customers.

Non money producing activities include: Make sure that you do these non-money producing activities during non-productive time or AFTER you have done your money producing activities each day. Just remember that when you make it to the top, you still want to have your family with you!

The last thing you want to do is sacrifice the relationships with your family, just to build your Amway business or any other business. Make sure that you schedule time each week and day for your kids, your wife, your faith, and whatever else is important to you.

You can work your Amway business an hour or two a day and be very successful, if you do it consistently, and work smart. Check out some of my best time management tips. To be honest with you, the odds of you building a successful Amway business or any business in just a few short months, or even a year or two is quite slim.

Businesses normally take YEARS, sometimes even decades to become really successful. Learn more about the long-term view. At first, I thought he was crazy for saying this, but after processing it and thinking about it for a couple years, it makes a lot of sense to me.

If you can work your Amway business just hours per day and build up your business, even to the Platinum level, in three to four years, that is a very good deal. If you break that down into an hourly wage, the part-timer makes more per hour than the full-timer!

The real beauty of network marketing is that it is designed to start part-time , until your income replaces your job income. While either of those two things might appeal to you, most of your prospects will NOT be interested in the big money. You must work your business every day, at least five days a week, over a period of a few years to become successful.
